Joel SARTORE, National Geographic photographer, shows the animal
in the form of portraits on a black or white background,
highlighting it wonderfully, in a new and original way. These
portraits are an enchantment for the eyes, a moment of emotion for
a family visit, a delight for children and adults.
This world-renowned photographer has visited more than 40
countries in order to create a photographic archive of the world's
biodiversity, which will include portraits of approximately 15,000
species of birds, fish, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and
invertebrates. When completed, the Photo Ark will be an important
record of each animal's existence and a plea to save
